Financial Literacy Week

The Financial Literacy Week 2025, organized by the National Bank of Ethiopia in collaboration with NEWFin, SWIFT, UNCDF, regional governments, and financial institutions, is guided by the theme “Fostering Financial Literacy and Strengthening Consumer Protection.” As part of the National Financial Education Strategy, the initiative aims to enhance the financial well-being of Ethiopian adults and expand access to financial services nationwide. This year’s campaign focuses on mobile money literacy and consumer protection, targeting three million adults—half of whom are women—through community workshops, roadshow campaigns, youth development programs, media outreach, and account-opening drives at financial institutions. By engaging diverse communities and promoting consumer awareness, FLW 2025 seeks to strengthen financial inclusion, build consumer trust, and contribute to Ethiopia’s Vision 2030 financial inclusion goals.
